Preauthorized electronic debits (PADs)
Debits to its bank account in advance by the payer. The payers bank sends
payment to the payees bank through the Automated Clearing House (A.C.H.)
system.
Precautionary demand (for money)
The need to meet unexpected or extraordinary contingencies with a buffer stock
of cash.
Precautionary motive
A desire to hold cash in order to be able to deal effectively with unexpected
events that require cash outlay.
